I've used the Makro app for a few orders and found the pricing competitive and delivery fast. However, the main issue is that items are often out of stock, and customers aren’t always informed. It’s frustrating to have to follow up on incomplete orders, only to learn that products are unavailable, even though they weren’t marked as out of stock when I ordered. This makes me hesitant to order in the future. Great concept, but it needs to improve on stock communication and reliability.

Ordered a smartwatch, waited 2 weeks with absolutely no progress on the order, to the point where it hadn't progressed past the first status ("accepted") on the supposed "delivery day". After several emails, they quietly cancelled the order as out of stock without really anything in the way of communication or explanation. Looking at the other reviews, this is a pretty common experience. Probably better to take your online shopping elsewhere.

An absolute nightmare! Never ever again! I'm sooo done with this app and with Makro as a whole. After 4 days of phone calls and emails back and forth (because they refuse to update order status) I finally have the most important Christmas purchase canceled because the item is out of stock. I'm absolutely livid! Now the courier is driving cross country to deliver a packet of blades worth R30 that I was forced to buy because I was R1 short on free shipping. This is an absolute crock. DELETE APP!
