Folder Player is FREE (NO Ads, NO in-app purchases!), minimalistic yet powerful alternative music player which uses folders as playlists to play music or audiobooks, supporting in-folder images as album art and playback of video formats using audio-only.

Folder Player is a freeware which knows how to play whole directories. It can browse and play individual files, folders, or full folder trees.

Why another music player for Android?

There are many great mp3 players out there. If you're happy with them, you probably don't need another one. But chances are, you have the same problem as I had before I created this app - you tried many players, and your mp3 tag-based access to your music still too cumbersome, because your world defined - yes - by folders.

Ratings and reviews

As an audiophile, I love the customisation of the sound and of the way this player works (even thought I don't have the Pro version - yet) But the reason I first make me try it out is that it shows the real folders in your SD card and the way is set to play your music. If you are looking for a good player, try this out, I think is one of the best. You will love it too!

Just what I needed. Of course I organise music in folders - amazing how other players can't cope with that. I've had to drop a star since getting a fancy car with Android Auto. If I have folder player open when Android Auto starts, Android auto locks in on that app and I can't get rid of it. I have to clear all the data on Android Auto and make sure I don't use Folder Player! AI says it's not releasing something or other. No other audio app does this to me.

Best no fuss music player I've found. If you prefer to organise your own life (eg: all MP3 files in folders by artist) and ignore tags, this is it. UPDATE: discovered after more testing that previously reported channel dropout requires 3 conditions - setting stereo balance off centre (even slightly), enabling equaliser, and interrupting playback (pausing or skipping). Weird, but centering the stereo balance avoids the issue. UPDATE: Problem solved. Not the app. Old android version bug!
