Geocaches come in all shapes, sizes, and types — and some may be more cleverly deceptive than you can even imagine. Cache owners will always include a log book for you to sign to record your successful find. Larger containers might also include some treasures to be traded or moved to other cache locations — like with trackable tags, personal keepsakes, and the occasional geocoin hoping to be passed on to the next adventurer. Once you are done with the container, simply place it back exactly as you found it for the next explorer to discover.

Geocaching as a phenomenon is very very cool. It encourages people to interact with their environment and each other in a very physical and personal way, which seems increasingly rare as the world becomes more focused on digital interactions. That's all great. The problem is the app itself. Not that it's poorly laid out, but it restricts features behind the paywall that are free on the geocaching website, like access to certain (most) caches. Luckily, the website is very easy to use as well.

Recently I noticed my location on the map doesn't match where I'm standing. It will show me walk in the grass when I'm on the roadway. Not sure if it started after a update or not? OLD: Awesome way to get some exercise & see places right around you that you didn't know were there. The free version is great all on its own. But got the membership to support geocaching.

It's been fun and exciting. However I have found caches that are not being maintained and I as a "Hunter" feel I could take better care of a cache myself but am not allowed to make one myself because I can't "Pay to Play". This also keeps me from looking for some of the bigger and better caches. That only leaves me to being able to improve and maintain the lower level of caches. Why are they not held accountable for maintaining them. Responsible players should be awarded those neglected caches.
