DriveMyWay is a program for American Family Insurance policyholders that personalizes your auto insurance rate based on your safe driving behaviors. The safer you drive, the more you can save!

Enroll today through your American Family agent and enjoy up to a 10% introductory discount on your car insurance. Download and register the app, then start driving — and show off your safe driving skills!

Most drivers will save money by participating in DriveMyWay, though higher-risk drivers may see their rate increase.

MilesMyWay

Take control of what you pay with MilesMyWay!

If you’re a low mileage driver or have an extra vehicle that isn’t driven often, this app could help you save on what you pay for insurance.

MilesMyWay is a way for you to earn savings based on how much, or in this case how little, you drive. The app records your mileage, displays how many miles you’ve driven, and gives you an idea of how much savings you’re on track to earn.

Sign up for the MilesMyWay program through your local American Family agent to receive an invite to download and use the app at no cost. We’ll also mail you a MilesMyWay sensor to place in your car.

Constant notifications, even when I'm out of my vehicle. When I walk across my home, or I'm shopping, or I walk to the bathroom at work, I get notification that my trip is being recorded. If I wake up and check the time, a trip starts recording. The data being collected is junk, so any reports from that data is garbage. Same as other people, switching drivers during a long trip means completely rebooting my phone to stop the trip and start the next part as a new trip. This could all be fixed.

I have an overall complaint about trip scoring. I live in the Chicago area where, on the expressways, traffic moves 15 to 20 MPH above the posted speed limit. Less than that would be hindering traffic flow. Normal driving on the expressways means I am only going to get a 3 star drive. Secondly, on a 15 mile trip, there was barely 1/8 of a mile where the app said I was speeding and dropped me to 4 stars. I would really like to hear from someone who actually got a discount as a result of the app

App does not allow the opportunity to change driver of a trip after a day or two. Too much work to monitor every day to review and adjust. Temporarily increasing speed to pass vehicles flags the driver for speeding. coming to think of it, this could be encouraging bad behaviors such as passing vehicles via slower lanes. Hard braking info does not look accurate.
