Construction Calc
Bring site calculations, timber quantities, cutting and purchasing into one project. Review roof and stair dimensions, then prepare the materials and cutting schedules for the job.
Find calculators by task or search, open input help where you need it, and calculate dimensions directly with unit-aware expressions.
Calculate with units
• Enter metric dimensions, feet, inches and fractional inches. Work with length, area, volume and mass.
• Combine units in arithmetic, parentheses, square roots and trigonometric functions. Choose fractional-inch display precision.
Work through roofs and stairs
• Calculate common rafter lengths, plumb and level marks, bearing seats and remaining depth after a notch.
• Calculate hip, valley and jack geometry with unequal roof pitches, jack cheek cuts and compound cuts for crown molding laid flat.
• Account for floor finishes in stair rise, going, nosing, stringer cuts and remaining throat. Check headroom and the required opening.
• Review dimensioned diagrams and export drawings as PDF or SVG.
Turn materials into cut and purchase lists
• Bring wall, floor and roof timber quantities into shared schedules.
• Add reviewed roof-corner parts to the existing roof, or replace its parts, and carry the result into cutting and purchasing.
• Set multiple stock lengths, available quantities, prices and saw kerf for each material. Compare candidate plans by offcut, cost or piece count.
• Mark completed cuts and share quantities, cut lists and purchase lists as CSV or PDF.
Handle everyday takeoffs
• Estimate wall and ceiling boards, flooring and masonry units, concrete, straight fences and equally spaced members.
• Enter opening deductions, joints, waste, purchase units and prices for the task.
• Save projects and settings, with undo for changes.
Roof-corner geometry assumes perpendicular eaves at the same elevation. It does not automatically design a complete hip roof. Quantities and cut candidates are plans based on your inputs, without a guarantee of the lowest cost or fewest pieces. Check structural sections, connections and local requirements separately. Drawings are scaled to the page and are not full-size cutting templates.
