PhotoGuru Media Player is designed to display photos and videos from various file- and photo hosting services on Android-based phones, tablets, smart TVs and set-top boxes. The intuitive and beautiful user interface gives users easy access to the photos and provides an inexpensive way to showcase photos, videos and media presentations in the most professional way possible. PhotoGuru is compatible with Google Android TV devices as well as Amazon’s FireTV media players. 4K/UHD rendering of images is supported on several high-end devices.

The app has been installed >200,000 times from the Google- and Amazon stores and is used in homes, offices and store fronts as well as by promoters during concerts and other events.

PhotoGuru Media Player can access photos and videos from the following cloud-based photo- and file hosting services:

• Google Photos
• Local USB Sticks/drives

• Windows Server (Samba, CIFS)

The app supports true 4K/UHD rendering of images on the following devices:

• FireTV 4K (small rectangular box released in 2015)
• FireTV Stick 4K (released in 11/2018)
• NVidia Shield (all versions)
Due to hardware limitations, PhotoGuru does not support 4K rendering on the FireTV 4K dongle that was released in 11/2017.


The app is ad-free and does not cost anything. In order to keep it that way and to remove a trial message within the app, we ask you to purchase the module for the cloud-storage provider that you use for approximately $4.50. Proceeds are used to finance future development of the app and to purchase new equipment for testing.

it's the first app I've found that actually let's me see my photos on Google Photos in the traditional manner. Mostly it's great, but I'd like to be able to search for an image by name, such as all the images with "west" in the name. Also, I'd like to know how many files I have on Google Photos, but I don't see that information in this app. Third, I'd like to just buy a single "unlock all" IAP, rather than making 3 separate purchases to unlock all the rest (but that's a minor issue, obviously).

It was a Great App.... however, after I purchased all of the "add on licenses" they did away with that business model; and ever since then they have been dropping capabilities with almost every update (ie you can no longer connect to Google photos and Google drive, nor can you be authenticated into more than a single onedrive account simultaneously).

I purchased the application. It works well, but there are items to improve: 1. I cannot select the full path as metadata to display at the bottom of the image. My folder structure is indeed [year]/[Event date]/[Filename].jpg . I would expect to display all at the bottom of each image. 2. The transiction between images has a minimum of 2 seconds. it is too much if the images are accessed via SMB: the load time from the network is indeed already of few seconds,so it should start from ZERO
