This review has been changed from 5 stars due to a change in the platform. I am a PAYING subscriber. And I don't even have the lowest tier available. So you WILL be removing the forced ad at the beginning of every new episode I watch. I don't pay for Crunchyroll WITH ads, so stop showing them. Period. I will also be reimbursed for the last few months of being given Crunchyroll with ads. Edit: I do not care what you call them, an ad is an ad. and it breaks the ad free experience I PAY for.

This app is incredibly mid at best. It struggles with features across platforms (like Roku, android, and various TVs). I.E. it lacks the same quality across these applications and so you might see different performances depending on what you use. If you aren’t looking for high-quality apps like Netflix, it's fine. But don't expect to be able to micromanage your watchlist, rate shows, or have consistent "pause points" between apps.

It's really hard giving up on crunchyroll, mostly because of the convenience it provides through monopoly. But for $12 a month for an ad free experience. Yet I still get ads in the app. They removed the comment section so now there is no sense of community. They laid off employees to use poorly translated subtitles by AI. The new company they switched to had incorrect translations and inconsistent formatting. Finally, new episodes aren't always shown, or they are nameless. + App lags when watchi
