This app will allow users mainly the elderly, people with toddlers, and other users who generally need to restrict accidental touches in the phone, to disable/lock the touch in their phone.

People with trembling fingers or narrow screen bezels find this app useful due to its touch-blocking feature while viewing the screen for reading, watching videos, or just to prevent accidental touches(like when calling, video/audio conferencing, misdialing, etc)

One of the features of the touch-disabling app is to draw over the screen and prevent accidental touches. To achieve this, the app uses the AccessibilityService API, which allows it to monitor and interact with the user interface. The app requests permission to use this API when it is installed, and the user can enable or disable it in the settings. The AccessibilityService API is designed to help users with disabilities, but it can also be used for other purposes, such as touch disabling.

Ratings and reviews

In theory, this app is ridiculously easy to unlock - just tap the on screen lock icon, or be prompted to push the volume key (any child who can read will be able to do this.) However, in practice, there are major issues. 1) When locked, there is still full access to the power key, home button & pull-down notifications - any app that has a notification can be opened! Secondly, I tried the volume key unlock option, and it was impossible to unlock the screen - I had to restart my phone.

nice concept, but BE WARNED: 1. the home "button" and all the other buttons at the bottom of the screen are not toddler proofed and still work. 2. Do NOT use the volume unlock if you have a custom sound assistant installed which takes over the function of the volume buttons. Nearly soft locked my phone when I tried that feature. Luckily a restart was still possible.

Installed, set up to use volume button to disable. Locked the screen and couldn't unlock it. Volume buttons did nothing but change the volume lol. Also, it doesn't really lock the screen. You can still press the go-back buttons and pull down the notification bar and press anything in there. So the kids still accidentally mess everything up while running around with the phone while on a video call.
