A great idea and I'm thrilled to help with the research! The app needs a little work though. When a notification pops up you have 10 minutes to respond to it. When I tap the notification within that time window, on half of the occasions it will tell me that I missed it, even though I was in the 10 minute window. I hope that you can smooth this out so that your research is meaningful and accurate!

Thanks for your comments, Kortney. It does seem that some devices are having problems accurately assessing the time period between a notification and a check-in's expiration. We will be revamping that part of the code in a future release and we hope that will resolve the issue. Please look out for that update and thank you for your contributions!

Survey to set up account is WAY too long. The daily check up feature that pings several times a day is broken. Even when responding to the check up notice within 5 seconds, I almost always get a message that the check up window has expired. I am checking the notice itself not the app.One time I got in to the check up window, and discovered that the survey questions were so extensive that I gave up. I really wanted to use this app to help but it is just not functional and I will uninstall it.

Thanks for trying out the app, Ron. We understand that there are a lot of questions. Unfortunately, there are many aspects to the focus of our research and they can't be reasonably answered using just a few of them. Most users are able to complete check-ins in a minute or two, but we realize that it might be too cumbersome for some participants.

App works ok. Unlike others who had trouble opening the survey after receiving a notification,, my version worked every time. I used the app for several days and completed 30 surveys. The interruptions to respond to the notifications are mildly annoying but would be worth it if the results provided me with meaningful insights, but alas I can't say I have benefitted. Sorry U of A but I'm dropping out (deleting app) because it's just not worth the hassle.

Thanks for your feedback, Thom. The app is not intended to be used indefinitely so, ending participation when is appropriate for you, is completely ok! Thanks again for your participation.

What's new

- Mind Window will now automatically adjust notification times when users change time zones.
- Fixed a bug where the number of completed check-ins could be incorrectly displayed.
- Some new questions regarding screen time have been added to the “Getting to Know You” section.
