The bank syncing and the tool itself are really good. But the interface is very complex. All I really want (and I can't be alone in this) is a simple view of how my spending tracks against budget, both by category and overall. The info is in there, but it's buried amongst lots of clutter. Just because you can show a widget or graph doesn't mean you should.

Glad to hear you're finding PocketSmith and its feeds useful. We've designed it to be flexible since everyone manages money differently. While this can feel complex, we're always working to enhance the experience - making it smoother without losing the depth and flexibility that make it unique. Let us know if there’s anything we can improve!

TLDR: App average, Website service amazing! The app itself is quite limited in its usage, will be good for keeping up with managing individual transactions, and glancing at the provided summaries, not much more. The real assets lie in the functionality of the website portal. Extensive options and customisations available. Highly recommend if you want lots of options and flexibility to manage all of your finances in as much detail as you want

I find pocketsmith to be very frustrating when setting up. This is DEFINITELY more of a ' sit down with my laptop and plan my budget' then a ' let me look on my phone if I'm over budget before buying shoes' kind of a deal. I would LOVE if you could set the time period for the budget on the mobile app. Having the budget only in the calendar month is frankly useless to me. Please at least do 1 week!! As someone who gets paid every fortnight, it is also frustrating about the lack of options.

Totally hear you, Mel. Setup is still best on a laptop, but we agree budgets need to be checkable while you’re on the go. We’re improving the mobile experience, and more flexible budget timeframes are exactly the kind of thing we’re working toward.
