My son learned to read on this app, however, there was a few issues. Whenever he reads a longer book, and he accidentally closes the app or my phone turns off, it restarts the whole page. It is a great idea, but I just feel like sometimes the microphone wont work right, and it cant hear him. Lastly, sometimes the timer wont work until you complete a page, and with the first issue mentioned, it is sometimes impossible to finish a book. Overall, it did help and had good stories but it needs work.

Purchased annual subscription thinking if didn't workout i would get a partial refund which isn't the case. My kids didn't like the app. They would have to continuously repeat certain words and for my five year old I would have to say some of the words for the story to progress; she would be so frustrated at That point. This app just didn't us. if you want to try it I suggest not doing the annual subscription just in case you don't want to keep it for the entire year.

I'm a teacher with a reading specialist degree. I was very disappointed in this app. I had high hopes for the voice recognition, but it does not work well. it also says the word too quickly, so kids don't have the chance to try to apply decoding skills (which is what struggling readers actually need). The supposed reading levels are way off as well. The firsr grade level had WAY too many words that weren't decodable and the 4th grade level was WAY too easy. it was maybe 2nd grade level.
