About this app

The South Carolina WIC Program is a supplemental nutrition program for women, infants and children under age 5.

WIC is a federally funded program that provides healthy supplemental foods and nutrition counseling for pregnant women, new mothers, infants and children under age five. The program has an extraordinary 35-year record of preventing children's health problems and improving their long-term health, growth and development. WIC serves over 9.1 million women, infants and children through over 10,000 clinics nationwide.

The South Carolina WIC Mobile App will give WIC participants the opportunity to view upcoming appointments, view food benefits that have been issued to them in the clinic, scan UPCs while shopping at the store to see if the UPC is a WIC Approved item or not, and provide information on locations of WIC Stores and WIC Clinics across the State of South Carolina.

The goal of the South Carolina WIC Mobile App is to give participants all the information they need at their fingertips to make their shopping experience fun and easy.

only works half the time, currently it's down. and the half the time its working it really only does half the things it's supposed to do. it'll scan merchandise, but most of the time its says "ineligible" or "scan again" even if it is actually WIC eligible, and when it does work right, I have to close the app and reopen it to get the scanner to work properly again.

In the very beginning I loved the app, due to the fact that it allowed you to view your current and future benefits. Not only was it a life saver for me, but it also saved me from embarrassing myself at check out. Fast-forward: now I'm stuck everytime looking clueless at checkout when it says no benefits for a particular item. I have to play a guessing game when it comes to what's available and what's been utilized, ALL BECAUSE I CAN NO LONGER VIEW MY CURRENT/FUTURE BENFITS ON THE APP.

useful when it works right. It sometime freezes doesn't scroll so allowed items can be seen. The first time this happened i thought his benefits had been changed so i chose from the items that were on the page i could see. Some wasted benefits needless to say, he didn't like the items i had to pick from. Disabled vet. income is less than 500 a month. Ive served/worked most of my life for the allowance i have earned for him. App needs to be rock solid. Same issue after reinstalling the app.
