About this app

Ouisync is a free and open source tool enabling file sync and backups between devices, peer-to-peer.

Features:
- 😻 Easy to use: Simply install and quickly create files and folders to sync and share with trusted devices, contacts and/or groups.
- 💸 Free for everyone: no in-app purchases, no subscriptions, no ads, and no tracking!
- 🔆 Offline-first: Ouisync uses an innovative, synchronous, peer-to-peer design that allows users to access and share files and folders whether or not your device can connect to the internet.
- 🔒 Secure: End-to-end encrypted files and folders - both in transit and at rest - secured by established, state-of-the art protocols.
- 🗝 Access Controls: Create repositories that can be shared as read-write, read-only, or blind (you store files for others, but cannot access them).
- Open Source: Ouisync's source code is 100% free and open source software, now and forever. All code can be found on Github.

Status:
Please note that Ouisync is currently in BETA and under active development, and as such some features and functionality may not work as expected. We encourage users to report bugs and request new features via Github: https://github.com/equalitie/ouisync-app

An open source alternative to Resilio and the now unsupported Syncthing Android sounds great. The only problem I have with it, that there is no option to syncronize folders of other apps. Like documents, e-books, galleries, that are using their own folders.

Ouisync currently doesn’t support syncing folders. At the moment, only files placed directly into Ouisync repositories can be synchronized. We are exploring possible improvements.

I installed the app but it doesn't work offline. It only works when your internet is on. When you are offline it gives you a QR code that only copies the name of the repository in the destination device. I cannot find out how to work with this app offline and as far as i know there is no guidance for using this app

Hi. For Ouisync to work, the devices need to be connected via wifi or similar local network, even when there is no connection to internet. In general, in the Peers page (in Settings) you should see the device that your device is connected to - and when you see that, they will sync with each other. Have fun syncing. Regards, the Ouisync team
