About this game

Knotwords is a minimal and elegant logic puzzle — with words.

The rules are simple: arrange the letters in each section so every word is valid, across and down.

Each puzzle may seem difficult at first — but like all my favorite newspaper puzzles, it gets easier as you progress. Each step guides you naturally towards the solution.

This is the kind of game I've been trying to make my whole career — I'm amazed Jack and I discovered this design. We hope you like it.

Inventive and challenging fun. Love it! (except for some odd functionality :) ) Update 5/30/24: I've downgraded and uninstalled the app. For whatever reason it's become intolerably slow on my Android. And if I happen to get sidetracked and let it go to sleep, it becomes essentially unresponsive. In theory a good game but in practice very painful. Farewell Knotwords.

I really want to like this game. The concept is clever, the design is cute, and the puzzles are challenging. But the interface is hurt by the timer. So many times I rush to fill in a word only to realize I've accidentally put letters in the wrong place because it defaults to filling in that block instead of the word. If they could fix that, I'd give it 5 stars.

Nice idea for a puzzle, but the UI is awful. Tapping doesn't start the puzzle; sometimes double tapping opens it, but sometimes it selects the next puzzle and sometimes it selects the previous puzzle. Which entry gets selected after you type a letter is random within the current box, hard to complete a word and it doesn't even go to an empty spot every time so you might be trying to quickly enter letters only to find that you're just overwriting the same two over and over.
