It's not bad and when compared to the other mobile app options, I'm sure it's better than most. However, I know enough about basic accounting to know that instead of making this subject easier to understand, this app actually makes everything more confusing. Every concept does NOT need to have a bunch of different names. One concept (i.e. debit) should always be referred to by one name (i.e. debit). By trying to explain it as something else, you make it confusing.

Sorry you found the course confusing Ashley. My guess is you were taught bookkeeping as a memorized rule process that never explained the "why" and only the "how to". Perhaps you didn't go far enough in the course? Feel free to contact me for clarification at: https://www.addictiveaccounting.com/support.html. -Cheers, Steve (author/developer)

I have started studying accounting this year. I have tried other free courses, some better than others. Addictive Accounting is by far top notch, #1! The explanations clear up many of my previous questions and help me to understand how accounting works. The small modules hold my interest and the short quiz at the end of each one hammers the point home. I am so glad I found Addictive Accounting! Thank you!

As an accounting graduate that simply never got to USE their education, this is a great review of basic accounting/BK concepts and activities. However, with prior knowledge, the initial simplified terms and "definitions" were a bit confusing. Still, a good way to reconfigure your understanding of complex topics. Still about halfway through the free portion of the course, I WILL be back to update this review.

Hi Michael! It's understandable that you might feel a bit confused. The mainstream method places 80% of the focus on financial statements rather than on the actual bookkeeping that serves as their source. I teach it the opposite way because, once understood, financial statements become much easier to grasp. Cheers, Steve (author/developer)
