Black Screen lets you play videos with screen off. Turn off the screen anytime and save battery. Black Screen can be used to watch music videos, listen to podcasts, record videos, take selfies, etc. with your screen turned off.

This helps to save battery in AMOLED and OLED devices as the screen is completely off when displaying black color.

Use the floating button to quickly turn off the screen and unlock it by tapping on it.

Warning: This is not a lock-screen app, it is just a black screen overlay on top of the app you are using. This helps in saving battery on AMOLED devices.

I'm not 100% sure what this apps purpose is, it creates a black overlay, not so much a screen in literal sense, if you want to practice blind texting then you may find use for it, but if you're looking for something to keep your phone from going crazy in your pocket then this isn't it, as a overlay is just another resource being used while you're screen is very much on.

Black Screen does exactly as stated: plays other apps in BACKGROUND MODE- and does so reliably. Doesn't crash, impose ads, or steal my valuable time or energy. I'm able to play YouTube with Screen off and the keys don't get inadvertently hit so the videos play as they should without skipping around. I still have to listen to the ads, (or partially...till I skip ad, which requires attentiveness on my part) ---but that's cause I refuse to pay for YouTube. NOT attributed to Black Screen app!

This is not just for videos/YouTube. I use it with my mp3 players. Some lockscreens don't have the controls I like, but with this I can keep the app in the foreground with my desired controls, PLUS I don't have to go through the hassle of unlocking the screen when needed. The notification shade is also available when this is in use, so I can check the song info without even having to activate the screen. The only thing I'd add is the ability to have it auto-start when rebooting the phone.
