After a few months of this app working perfectly, I suddenly had problems with the app crashing every time I connected to the dashcam. I'm super happy to announce that a new update finally came, and the app no longer crashes! Rand McNally has a long history of providing navigational aids for drivers. Updating their maps in the 1980s is just as important to them as updating dashcam software in the 2020s. Thank you! I'm happy to change my review to FIVE STARS!

The app used to work, only stays open when wifi is turned off; defeats the purpose of having connections via wifi if app shuts down as soon as you try to connect to wifi. I have the S20 Ultra, the app worked fine for a spell, now doesn't work at all. The camera works just fine! Also the map never worked due to needing to be connected to internet, which you cannot do if you're connected to the camera's wifi... Like others, I got this for the app/xfer features. Maybe looking at other brands soon

3rd McNally device, they all failed within a year. This one seems to have a WiFi issue between the camera and app on Android 9 not allowing them to communicate. Either a hardware issue on the device, or software issue with the app or Android OS. My issue coincided with Android OS 8 to 9 update. Beyond the usual clear cache, factor and hardware resets, McNally's remaining solution was to RMA. 1 year warranty - keep your receipts! When the app worked, it was decent. Device still works and functions by itself or as a USB drive. Email support did not respond.
