You can use SmartShop on your mobile data or our free in-store WiFi, where available.

* Please note that you'll need to be a Digital Nectar customer and have opted in to the offers on the Nectar app to view them in SmartShop. You will need to sign back in if you have not been active for 14 days or longer.

Ratings and reviews

Some discounted items don't scan, so you have to have those scanned separately at a till. Sainsbury's then don't trust you, so after calling for an assistant, they manually rescan a selection of items that they think you might have stolen. Including scanning the items yourself, the whole process takes twice as long as just taking your basket to the till. I only used the app to get some bonus Nectar points but won't be using it again. Uninstalled.

I've had enough - 3rd time it gives up half way through the shop and clears the basket. It's saving a list of barcodes, this should be more reliable than that even if you lose signal in the shop (fair enough needing data at checkout). Used to be more reliable but if I end up scanning everything at the till anyway, I might as well not bother with SmartShop. Shame because it was really convenient.

Lost three stars because the app very rarely works now. For the last few months it crashes nine times out of ten. When it works it's great though. Update. This app is actually getting worse! Crashing is still a persistent problem. And tonight I scanned the QR at checkout successfully, and a moment later the till screen changes, the download is gone, and I have to scan every item again.
