About this app

The Shavian alphabet (or Shaw alphabet) was posthumously created as an alphabet for the English language, intended to replace Latin. Each character in the Shavian Alphabet requires only a single stroke to be written on paper. The Shaw alphabet was later evolved by its designer Kingsley Read into Quickscript (also known as the Read alphabet and Second Shaw).

Transcripts are completely wrong. Try share, care, pure for example but many other words are just not right when transcripted. Usability not great either. Anyway I like the idea. I just use this for quick reference now. I do hope it improves as I like it overall.

Still seems to be some issues with the quickscript transcriptions in the new update. Here is what I noticed ər sounds seem to trip it up. Fur = 𐑔 instead of 𐑔𐑩𐑮 per = 𐑐 instead of 𐑐𐑩𐑮. Also L sounds get ommited from the transcriptions in complete words: lens = 𐑧ɤ𐑟 instead of ꜣ𐑧ɤ𐑟 and soul = 𐑕𐑴 instead of 𐑕𐑴ꜣ. "Are" gets transcriped to nothing for some reason. wh words woth aspirated w's get transcriped ſ𐑢 instead of ꝩ so wheat = ſ𐑢⩘ꟾ instead of ꝩ⩘ꟾ. Thanks for the work on it!

Hi Travis. Oops again! I've now also improved Quikscript transcription (and further improved Shavian). Let me know if the 1.1.9 works better, thanks for your effort to point out bugs! I'm a bit unsure whether the 𐑩 really should be written, since 𐑮 might already be considered an r-flavored schwa (such is the case for 𐑻 in Shavian at least).

I like that this exists and though it is helpful, for whatever reason the [air] sound will always appear as the [ur] character which makes it hard for me to fully trust the translations
