About this app

Ting is a new generation of smart technology and service, thoroughly proven to help you protect your family and home from electrical fires. Ting is centered around an intelligent, plug-in DIY sensor and is squarely focused on fire prevention. Ting monitors the electricity in your home to detect tiny, hidden micro-arcs that are often precursors to electrical fires. Ting also monitors for hazardous conditions stemming from poor quality power from the local electric utility service provider, which can damage your sensitive electronic devices, stress your electrical system, and result in safety hazards, including fires.

The Ting Sensor is required to install the sensor and activate your Ting service (however, after installing, the app never communicates directly with your sensor). After installation, the app keeps you in the know 24x7.

If an electrical fire hazard is detected, the Ting Fire Safety team will contact you and guide you through identifying and mitigating the hazard. Some Ting-identified hazards stem from failing or faulty devices or appliances that simply need to be removed from service / replaced. Others stem from dangerous power supplied to the home by the local electric utility service provider. Still, other hazards develop in wiring, connections, or other electrical infrastructure throughout the house; when this type of hazard is suspected, the Ting Fire Safety Team – with your approval – coordinates a licensed electrician to visit your home to isolate and fix the hazard. It's pointless, it'll send notification. Great. I go to log in. Nope. I try reset password. Cause just round in circles. Log in isn't good. I user name password wrong. Try again. Just runs you around in circles. There is no one to contact. Offers no help in app. Wait I take that back the only good it does is possible lower my insurance rate. Other than that. Bet thier response sucks too. Can't even put a contact us inside the app. Have to leave it in the response to this. That seems helpful.

So far, this device has lived up to expectations. It's easy to set up. download the app, plug the device into a wall outlet, then follow the simple directions. When the device light turns green, it's fully activated and actively monitoring the electrical wiring. It provides peace of mind, knowing all's well with that part of my house. Fortunately (touch wood), I have not had an event that warranted an alert from the device or Ting's monitoring team--and I hope I never will!

seems like a neat idea, I'll got this free via insurance. I think I need more time to see if it's useful. Seems to have some high data rate The cons: Keeps freezing when reopening, doesn't integrate well at all (I can't save my password, no auto fill, can't use the back button). Also, they only show two parameters, but it apparently logs hundreds, why can't I look at more? I think the app needs a lot of work.
