About this app

Car Timer was built to help you time the acceleration and the top speed of your car.

The app provides the option to have the timer in a 0-100km/h / 0-60mph mode or in a 0-50km/h / 0-30mph, have it record the top speed in km/h or mph, or a completely custom run that you set, meaning that no matter where you are and no matter what car you have, you can always rely on the Car Timer to track your car's performance.

And now, the app can even track 1/4 or 1/8 mile (0-400m or 0-200m) runs, making Car Timer one of the most complete app of its kind on the Store today!

Inside the app, there is an option to share your results so that you can show your friends just how fast your car is. For computing the precise time it takes your car to achieve the required speed, the app uses some clever techniques to estimate just when the speed is reached, as the GPS is only providing updates about the speed about once a second once you start moving.

Always obey the existing traffic rules and follow the posted signs!

We strongly believe you'll love our Car Timer app but we know we are not perfect, so if you have any suggestions or there's something wrong that you see in the app, we'd love to hear from you at contact@codingfy.com.

I'm not sure its accurate but I'll take the awesome times. Fitted the racingline PCM box to my S3 8Y, which takes performance up to 360 ps (355 hp) from 310 ps (306hp) and did a run the other day, and the app gave a reading for 0 - 60 as 3.3 seconds!

When it works it's mediocre, but it does spend a lot of the time not working (timer doesn't start, starts too early, doesn't start at all, doesn't stop). To be fair, a lot of these issues are down to limitations of android phones, however that doesn't negate the fact it just doesn't work well. Not worth the few MB on my SSD, definitely not worth the money (just buy a gps speedo, even a cheap one will do a way better job)

Hi, thank you for your honest review. Yes, it's true that GPS speedos will be more accurate, it's down to the limited way in which GPS updates are provided by Android. For the most accurate measurement, I recommend making sure that precise GPS location is provided to the app, that the user is in an open area and that the phone is freshly restarted.

Galaxy s21 ultra phone. I turned it on, set the GPS location as precise. On acceleration I did half throttle and wanted to compare the speedometer against the app. It went semi close to the speedometer until 30 and then the app jumped to 55mph then down to 15 then jumped to 55 then up to 60mph. During this time I was gradually accelerating and never even made it to 45mph. Where I live GPS and 5G connection is very strong typically four to five bars.

Hi, thank you for your review and for mentioning your phone type. It's true that on some devices, the location services might not be accurate enough (possibly due to battery life considerations) to allow a proper measurement. Please be assured that I am working on improving the algorithm to try to fix such situations.

What's new

Thank you for using Car Timer!

In this update:
• Braking mode has been launched, allowing you to measure the braking performance of your car; this is an early release of this feature so it might not be perfect, but I value any feedback you would have for the app;
• lots of bug fixes and improvements.
