Buttons Remapper supports ONLY hardware buttons (including capacitive ones) and is not compatible with on-screen soft buttons.

Buttons Remapper uses Android Accessibility services to provide faster app access and simplified actions. The app only uses specific features of the service, including filtering key events, tracking "window changed" events, and dispatching gestures for the Emulate touch feature. These features are intended to benefit drivers, users with disabilities, and anyone who wants to customize their device.

This app doesn't store or send any key events or last opened package outside of the device. Events are processed in RAM only for combinations and the Last app action. No internet permission is required, and there are no ads.

Ratings and reviews

After realizing Android Pie changed the volume buttons to control media volume (what are they thinking?!) instead of ringer volume, I needed a way to get my ringer volume buttons to work again (I use those all day! WHY do I need to control media volume when I'm not running media?!). This sweet little app saved the day! THANK YOU!!! Easy to install and customize!

Life Saver. Some internal glitch caused my phone to continually hold down the volume down button. When I went to restart my phone, it only ever allowed it to go into Fastboot mode (only accessable by holding down both the power AND volume down button). I even factory reset the device to experience the same result. This app allowed me to recalibrate the volume down button, and it is now working properly. This app is a LIFESAVER if you need to use it.

Works intermittently - not sure what had happened but this app works intermittently now. I use it to prevent the volume-control buttons on the side from working. Nothing more frustrating that when you volume is adjusted when you are holding the phone awkwardly -- volume decreases (can't hear) or increases dramatically. Samsung S21 Ultra 5G, Android version 13
