About this app

No ads, no subscription. One single purchase unlocks everything for good.

Rotation Control Pro puts your screen orientation completely under your control.
You can lock or auto-switch the orientation of apps that force a fixed orientation, of your home screen, and even of the lock screen — which is normally hard to control.

It is packed with handy features: per-app orientation, automatic switching based on device state (charging, headphones, Bluetooth, dock), and priority settings for when several conditions apply at once. You can also switch instantly from the notification bar, a Quick Settings tile, or a home-screen widget.

A simple, clear design that anyone can use right away.

[Main features]

►Global rotation setting
Set the orientation for the whole device. Choose from portrait, landscape, reverse landscape, reverse portrait, auto-rotate and more.

►Auto-rotate in all 4 directions
Most devices never auto-rotate to upside-down portrait, but this app's "auto-rotate" rotates to all four orientations, including reverse portrait.

►Works on the lock screen too
You can control the orientation of the lock screen, which is normally hard for an app to do (the accessibility permission is required).

►Notification bar control
Switch the rotation quickly from the notification bar. You can also choose to hide it.

►Per-app rotation
Set an orientation for each app. It switches to your setting when the app opens and returns to the previous orientation when it closes.

►Auto-save
Change the orientation while an app is open and it is saved per app automatically, then applied again the next time you open that app.

►Rotation by device state
It detects the following states and switches to your chosen orientation, then returns to the previous one when the state ends.
- External power (charging)
- Headphones connected
- Bluetooth device connected (configurable per device)
- Dock connected

►Priority settings
Choose which condition wins when several apply at once. Two methods are available: "By priority order" and "Most recently triggered".

►Quick Settings tile / widget
Switch with a single tap from the Quick Settings tile or a home-screen widget too.

[About the use of the AccessibilityService API]
This app uses the accessibility service (AccessibilityService API) to provide the following features.

- Per-app settings: used to detect when apps you specify open and close, and to automatically apply the orientation set for each app.
- This app never collects your personal information or reads screen content through this permission.
- Using this feature requires your explicit permission.

Privacy and data handling:
- Through this permission, this app never collects your personal information, records what you type, or reads on-screen content.
- The information obtained is used only to run the feature on the device and is never transmitted externally.
- Using this feature requires your explicit permission.

So far, this does exactly what it says on the tin. It was easy to add a button to the Quick settings pulldown, and although all background apps have to have a notification bar, theirs is one of collapsed ones that isn't in the way. The permissions you have to give an app like this are a little scary, so a clean presentation is a little reassuring.

I needed an app that would flip the display to reverse portrait and didn't have ads because I wanted to create a Tasker routine that would automatically do that when I plugged in the charger. But the ads kept getting in the way. Then I found this app, and it does exactly what I wanted to do. No Tasker task required. I plug in the power, and the screen flips. I unplug the power and the screen flips back. You get two days to evaluate it. Then buy it or forget it. I bought it. I'm glad I did.

First used this app ages ago, as a specific app's rotation (or lack thereof) was bothering me, and as a result, preferred this over that phone's auto-rotate system! Haven't used this since changing phones 😅 but seems like it's working just as well as before (unless I'm RLY tight on storage or sth, I'm probably sticking with this tool again for a long time)
