For context, I live in Germany, right next to the French border and routinely visit France. I tried signing up for the bonus system because I often eat at McDonald's during my road trips in France. Unfortunately, I can't do that because for some reason a French mobile number is mandatory, not just any mobile number, a French one. Why is this even mandatory?? That's alright, I'll create an account and just not accumulate points, that's fine. I then download the app, launch it and as soon as I click the login button: DENIED! You're in the wrong geographical location for this, you can't log in. These are the most ridiculous gates I've seen implemented in apps. Why prevent people from using your app? Just make it clear that it's country specific and let people join if they want to. Ideally, it would be the same bonus plans and app for the whole World but McDonald's seems to enjoy over complicating things.

Entirely in french, no option to change language, it's required for German stores too. It's like the app maker didn't expect international travel. Got this app after being redirected through 3 different McDonald's apps. Rather than it all being in one place. And after it all, I couldn't order without an account, and couldn't make an account for no clear reason as it would generate an error every time.

This is the most useless app I have had the displeasure of using. The fidelity card can be accessed on the website. The main issue with the app and the restaurant is their click and collect service. You have to finish your order on the app, and the app forces you to pay. However, when you get there, your order is neither ready nor being prepared. In fact, you have to scan a qr code in the restaurant in the same place where you order. It's a waste of storage space on your phone.
