LATCH is a great technological experience which is also operated by regular batteries installed inside the box which holds the device where you hold your phone at the recommended distance on the inside of the door. I was instructed how to use it, and I was also made aware that these Super Heavy-Duty AA Batteries (6-8 batteries needed) have to be replaced or the Latch Lock will not function simply because it is battery operated. The simple truth explained without panicking made me happier! REM

I've been using Latch for 3+ years in my apt complex. If you are thinking of installing an e-lock system for your house/building, DO NOT USE LATCH. The NFC in their lock hardware and app software does not work reliably. You will have to use Bluetooth. When you launch the app, it won't display the list of locks for 10+ seconds, because its developers are incompetent and fail to understand even the basics of user experience. ...many more issues, not enough space here.

My apartment complex exclusively uses this app unfortunately. The text on each lock in the app is unreadable and truncated with "..." after revealing 7 characters. The app should prioritize readability. Not UI uniformity. Let me read it by providing a font size adjuster or simply let it overflow to the next line. I need a usable app. Not a pretty but useless app. When every lock looks like "BUILDING...XIT" , it's not useful.
