About this app

Write Python, try a small program, and see its output from one mobile workspace. Python Editor brings a code editor, online execution, an examples library, and local script files together for learners, students, and anyone who wants to work through a coding idea on their device.

EDIT WITH PRACTICAL CODING TOOLS
Read your source with Python syntax highlighting, line numbers, an active-line indicator, and word wrapping. Use bracket matching and automatic bracket closing while you type. Undo and redo help you revisit an edit without retyping the previous version.

The shortcut row puts indentation, parentheses, square brackets, braces, quotes, and a colon within reach. Insert a pair around selected text or add punctuation at the cursor. Find text, move through matches, replace one occurrence or all matches, and use the match-case option when capitalization matters. Go to line helps you return to a specific part of a longer script.

RUN AND REVIEW
Tap Run to switch to Output and send your current program for online execution. Review the returned text, then go back to Code to change the script. This edit-and-run workflow is useful for checking arithmetic, experimenting with a loop, or understanding what a function returns.

For scripts that call input(), open Program input and enter one value per line in the order the program requests them. Those values are supplied together when you run the script. Change the values and run again to compare results without changing your saved source.

START FROM AN EXAMPLE
The library includes eight editable examples covering printed text and variables, addition, user input, conditions, loops, lists, functions, and dictionaries. Open one in the editor, read the code, adjust a value or statement, and run it to explore the effect. The user-input example comes with sample values to help you get started.

KEEP YOUR SCRIPTS ORGANIZED
Create a new script, open a .py file, save changes, or use Save As to keep another copy. The workspace displays the current filename. Recent files gives you a route back to previously opened or saved scripts, with up to ten entries kept on the device.

If a recent file can no longer be reached, you can choose to open its cached copy and save the recovered script with Save As. The app also asks before replacing current code that has unsaved changes.

RETURN TO YOUR DRAFT
Your current code and program input are automatically stored as a local draft and restored when you return to the workspace. Draft saving is separate from saving a named .py file: use Save or Save As when you want a script file to keep. Local storage availability affects draft recovery.

CHOOSE YOUR APPEARANCE
Select light, dark, or system appearance from Theme or Settings. Settings also provides interface language selection, the privacy policy, and advertising privacy choices when a consent form is available.

Internet access is required to run programs. Execution sends your code and supplied input to a remote service; this is not an offline Python interpreter. Python Editor contains advertising. Use it to practice fundamentals, revisit saved snippets, and develop small scripts in a focused workspace.
Write and run Python online, explore examples, and save your scripts.
