Requirements

NOW is compatible with Android phones and tablets running Android 5 (Lollipop) or later.

NOW is also available on Sony BRAVIA TVs from 2016 onwards, running Android 8 (Oreo) & 9 (Pie).

Note: NOW / Sky UK does not support video playback on rooted Android devices. This is because if a device is identified as being ‘rooted’, we can’t guarantee to our content partners’ satisfaction that the programmes, shows and movies can be protected from copying or illegal distribution.

With rooted devices, the user gets complete control over the Android operating system files and configuration. Some devices may be identified as ‘rooted’ if the manufacturer has enabled root access by default.

No real problems with the app, not much buffering or errors with connection or download/streaming speeds. Only real problem is I can't change caption settings, its just tiny lil words in yellow on black, really hard to read especially when it blends into the background of whatever I'm watching, would be the only big thing I'd change, everything else can be left as is (unless there are improvements that can be added, in which case make em optional so if people don't wanna use em they don't needa)

I would expect an app for which I'm paying a subscription to be as ad-free. This isn't, so although it enabled me to watch a sporting event I couldn't otherwise watch it only gets one star. The coverage was ok, some of the commentators were good. Inci Mehmet, Iona Stephen, and Ken brown always seem to know that they're talking about. The app functionality was pretty basic. Can't have featured groups or choose to watch a particular hole. Without ads I'd give it 3 stars.

If you wish to watch via Chromecast without a Boost subscription - beware. I cannot watch more than 10 minutes of a show via Chromecast without it suddenly closing & cease casting & for the app to display a "Too Many Devices Are Watching" error message once I attempt to reconnect. I have searched the NowTV website to troubleshoot this, where I discovered that a Chromecast apparently counts as 2 devices. A Boost subscription is required to watch on more than 1 device at the cost of £6 extra
