About this app

ELD COMPLIANCE
The Motive Driver App makes recording Hours of Service (HOS) on your Android phone or tablet fast and easy.
It complies with the FMCSA regulations, including Part 395. When used with the Motive Vehicle Gateway device, the app helps fleets and individual commercial drivers meet their obligations outlined under the ELD mandate.
Supports current Canadian Federal Hours of Service (HOS) regulations.
Connect the Motive Driver App to the Motive Vehicle Gateway via Bluetooth to stay compliant through an electronic logging device (ELD).
Proactively alerts you when you’re running out of driving time to avoid Hours of Service (HOS) violations.
Displays total hours worked for the week and your available Hours of Service for any given day and the following day.
Can be switched to Inspection Mode to show ELD logs to an officer during a roadside inspection without compromising the driver’s privacy.

TRACKING & TELEMATICS
When dispatched, GPS location data is shared to the Motive Fleet Dashboard to update dispatchers and fleet managers on stops and arrivals.

Ratings and reviews

This app is good as a ELD app. As far as it goes legally. There is options for external uses, for instance. One can link a dash cam. It does have many issues. You need to travel at 45 mph everywhere one drives too. It makes up speed limits. you will be on the interstate then for about 1-2 minutes, on a frontage road??? So now your speeding. It tags you constantly so to avoid a 100% score. Most speed tags are only about 1-2 mins. Most are not updated. False readings, false scores,👎👎👎👎

Good for the most part. Every now and then, it thinks the truck is moving when it is not. Usually, after waiting a few minutes, it will unlock, but sometimes I have to close it and restart, which can mess with the Bluetooth. Would be nice if the yard move function would automatically go to drive if the vehicle goes, say over 15 or 20 MPH. It's easy to forget to put it back On Duty. Don't know too many yards where I can go over 50 MPH, but the ELD will keep you in yard move no matter what.

I'm quite annoyed that I always have to tell this stupid app to go and get my location. It happily leaves it blank, or leaves the previous location (500 miles ago). It also loves to forget the location I made it get an hour ago, without moving an inch. I've complained before about this by way of feedback. But nothing has been done. If you have the option, consider a different app.
