About this app

DNSNet allows you to take more control over what internet traffic goes in and out of your device. You can download host files to block a set of known advertising or malicious host names and then create exemptions where you see fit.

It works by creating a lightweight VPN service that filters your internet traffic as you use your device. If you ever have trouble with connecting to a site or using an app, you can always exempt an app from filtering or create an exception for a specific host name.

To clarify for the dev: the problem isn't with the app itself, but rather the update process through the Play store. Every time a new update automatically installs through Play, the VPN gets disabled because the app has to be shut down to update. I disabled automatic updates, but now I have to make sure I don't accidentally tell it to update along with all the other updates, whereas with the F-Droid update process, I controlled all of that. It's still the same great app.

DNS66 supported Always-on VPN, can you do this too? And I see the notification is dissappearing, so the service stops working, even though it runs without any battery optimisation.

love it when it's running. I just wish that it would consistently stay running. Every 3-4 days I notice that it's stopped running for some unknown reason.
