Chrono Mobile is the official application of the transit corporations (exo, REM, RTL, STL and STM). It has been developed to give its users a complete metropolitan experience.

Whether by bike (BIXI), metro, Communauto, river shuttle, bus or train, Chrono lets you buy your fares, find the best route for your next trip or reserve an alternative mode of transportation.

-Avoid queues, reload your OPUS card, and buy fares.
-Access information on the entire metropolitan network: real-time* and planned complete schedules, bus and train positions and occupancy levels, network map, etc.

Ratings and reviews

Just as other reviews have stated, the app reads the cards, allows you to purchase a fare, but then can't find the same card to load the fare. Tried this with three different cards, two different phones, and finally one loaded after taking off the phone case and about 10 minutes of moving the card around. I'll note that taking off the phone case is not required to read the cards. I have used the Opus En Ligne reader for years and it works great. I just used it to load all three cards in minutes.

It works only with the STM schedules. For the lines in Laval and the South Shore the bus departure hours are not accurate, so the app is unreliable, sort of like public transportation in the Montreal area. I just missed my bus, supposed to leave at 11:39 according to the app last night, but it happens that the bus left at 11:20 and now I have almost an hour to waste and be late thanks to this nearly useless app... merci bien !!... the STM gets a golden star for trying

Installed so that I can load up my child DISCOUNTED CARD /student card, and IT DOESN"T WORK. Everything shown is "REGULAR FARE", unlike what the developer says as a response. Plus the card cannot be read unless I remove the case from my phone. This tells me that the card itself has a very weak NFC field because I can pay with my phone in its case everywhere else. That's not the app's fault (that's on the STM to get better cards) - but it is annoying.
