6 GREAT THINGS ABOUT TRANSIT:
1) The best real-time data. The app uses the best transit agency data sources like MTA Bus Time, MTA Train Time, NJ Transit MyBus, SF MUNI Next Bus, CTA Bus Tracker, WMATA Next Arrivals, SEPTA Real-Time and many more. We combine that data with our fancy ETA prediction engine so that you get the most accurate real-time info possible for all transit modes - including buses, subways, trains, streetcars, metros, ferries, ridehail and more. Prefer to travel on two wheels? With GPS, you can see live bikeshare and scooter locations right on the map.
2) Travel offline Bus schedules, stop locations, subway maps and even our trip planner are available offline.
3) Powerful trip planning See fast and easy trips combining buses, subways and trains – the app even suggests routes that combine multiple options in one trip like bus + bike or scooter + metro. You’ll find great trip plans that you never even considered! Don’t like to walk a lot or use a certain mode or transit agency? Personalize your travel in the settings.
4) GO: our step-by-step navigator* Receive departure alarms to catch your bus or train, and get alerted when it’s time to get off or transfer. When using GO, you’ll also crowdsource more accurate info and real-time ETAs for other passengers– and rack up points and thank yous for being the most helpful rider on your line.
5) User Reports See what other riders have to say! With millions of users contributing, you’ll get helpful info on crowding levels, on-time performance, the closest subway exits, and more.

Too much useless info that nobody asked for. Between the scrolling text at the bottom and the other bars of text obscuring the map, finding anything useful was difficult and cumbersome. I searched through the options and settings in the hope of finding a way to turn it all off and clean up the appearance of the map, but found nothing pertinent. Also, I didn't find a way to look at established routes and times; only real time options. Useless app, if you're trying to plan ahead.

Great app overall, love it for getting around and the cycling support is great to have! However, it's VERY overzealous about thinking I'm already on the bus, when in fact I'm still waiting at the stop (even if the bus is actually still 10+ mins away). And of course once this happens, it no longer shows me the wait times and/or live tracking info, which is highly annoying. Would love to have a way to tell the app "wait, I'm not on the bus yet!" and go back to the previous "Wait for bus" screen.

Don't bother. Google Maps has better real-time tracking, schedules, usability, etc. Spending money on the premium version conferred no real additional benefits. Trackers are almost always wrong, and I am late very frequently just following the instructions on the app when the busses suddenly come early or late despite the app's insistence that they are on time. When you do depart at the time given by the app, it will refuse to show you tracking on the bus YOU ARE TRYING TO TAKE. Just don't.

While the arrival times and vehicle locations in the app are provided by our partners at agencies directly, we're working with them to improve real time data. If you see this again, could you send us with a screenshot of the bad info you're seeing on the app, as well as a note on when the bus arrived? You can send it to us at review@transitapp.com.
