I love Magic Jack & the app! I have been using MagicJack since about 2011 or earlier. The app works great on my phone. I like the fact that it has privacy settings. With the privacy settings turn on, you can't eliminate a lot of the unknown, sales & robo calls that would ring your phone. With my cordless phone attached to the magicJack device, my cordless phone rings along with the app on my mobile device.

My cell phone will not call some local numbers, for unknown reasons. (I am not being blocked.) MagicJack app on my phone is able to call those numbers, and any number, without issue. Calls generally are at least as clear as my cell phone service. No complaints. The account is easy to manage online and gives me lots of options, such as forwarding calls.

The mic capture turns off when the app is minimized, even though the call is still connected and you can hear the other person. The app is always recording audio, so when connected to my car if the app is open the car thinks I am on a call. The worst is when I close the app, get in the car, and then get a text message, this causes the app to tell the car that a phone call is active and I can't hang up - I have to close the app to fix it.
