I have been using this app for a while and was completely happy with it until now. This is the message I receive when I open the app "this app will be able to read, modify, and delete on this phone or any connected storage device. If you allow this, the app may access files that aren't related to the app without notifying you.". I would like to know why a music player needs this level of access?

Decent player app. One of the few that supports browsing by album artist, but unfortunately does not pull in other albums containing tracks by the same artist like Google Music did/does. Completely ignores the Year/Date tag if it's not a 4-digir year; and doesn't seem to support a full release date tag, so sorting by date might not work correctly if you have more than one album by a given artist released in the same year. Takes too many taps to get to the play queue to clear it.

Edit 2: I removed app from battery optimization as instructed and I have had no problems so back to a 5 start rating. Thanks for your help. Edit: This app continuously stops playing music. Sometimes it continues to play but mutes the music. When troubleshooting either problem, naturally you press pause/play button. Neither function works. At times, I have to restart the phone. 11/1/2021: I am thoroughly impressed with Omnia Music Player and have no complaints. It's exactly what I needed.
