We have a huge range of hit shows and dramas - not shown on the main channel but available here - All for free and for everyone in the UK.
What can you do with the STV Player?
• Search and browse 1000's of hours of Box Sets and Movies from UK favourites to International hits.
• Catch up with old favourites from the archives - including Taggart, High Road and Brookside.
• Watch on your tablet, smartphone and the big screen (via Chromecast)
If you live in our broadcast area (Central and North Scotland), you can also:
• Live stream and restart the STV and STV+1 channels.
• Watch Live STV Sports - Whether it's Horse Racing, Rugby, NFL or Football - we got it covered.
• Catch up on most shows for up to 30 days.
The Small Stuff
For watching the STV live stream and some of our other programmes you’ll need to be resident in our broadcast region.
If you are elsewhere in the UK, you’ll still be able to watch the other live streams, many on-demand shows and our archive programmes & box sets.

Screen keeps going black and then when I go to resume it makes me watch adverts. I accidentally jump it forward when pressing for subtitles and it gives me adverts. I try to put it back, yet more adverts. At least C4 remembers how many adverts I've watched. Couldnt finish my programme. Very disappointed

Not the most the reliable of apps. Frequent problems connecting to Chromecast and then the sound always, always breaks up in at least one of the ad breaks-goes kind of distorted and the only remedy is to close the app and reset Chromecast... v annoying. This is the only streaming app I have this problem with. Update March 2024: STILL doing this, but now in every ad break. Has rendered the app totally unusable. Can't handle seeing more McDonalds ads or the one with a hotel for dogs any more!!

Let's me watch a little bit of a programme and then I get an 'oops' message, it's awful 2018 is when I left my 1☆ review and now it's May 24 and I feel the same way! It's a garbage app! I had a show saved and I'm only on episode 3 but suddenly it's not there. I give up!
