Using Music Writer you can compose, create and edit sheet music on your phone or tablet.

Editing the score,
- Add, remove and edit notes on two independent layers
- Change time signature, key signature and clef for individual measures
- Copy, paste or remove parts of the score
- Change the instrument for a staff
- Add expression, articulation, slur and repeats to the sheet music
- Add lyrics to your music
- Add, remove or reorder staves
- Set title, subtitle and composer
- Show or hide tempo marking
- Support for grace notes and tuplets
- Support for multi-page, single-page or horizontal layouts
- Support MIDI connection to an external device
- Record audio from device's microphone and add it to an audio track in the sheet music

Playing the music,
- Set the playback volume on individual staves
- Mute a staff, or set the playback to solo
- Show or hide individual staves
- Set the tempo and play the score

Export / Import,
- Save the score to your phone
- Export the sheet music to PDF, MIDI, MusicXML or MWD
- Import MIDI and MusicXML
- MWD files can be used to backup, share, or import your scores on other devices

Ratings and reviews

I'd like to apologize for my previous review. It was late at night, and I was irritated. That being said, I do have a few issues. The big one is limit of only two compositions in the free version. Another issue I've found is that the tie function works with notation but doesn't show up in the playback feature. The last thing is that the key signature function seems to be broken, but that could be on my end

Best music writing program out there, however I am incredibly disappointed in the offer only for subscription rather than outright purchasing the software. I get that servers and updates need be maintained but if you want to become a legacy program in the history of music, subscription based model is not the way to attain that ranking. Its better to have a good 5 year stint of purchase based software that re-releases a version 2 than a subscription based model which borderlines exploitation.

I feel like this app is underrated! It has everything I was looking for in a mobile score writing experience. Multiple instruments, notations, great playback, and a save button so you can always update your score. I was searching all over for a music writing app like this and honestly the others I've messed around with aren't nearly as good. Thank you to the devs for making this app!
