Time blocking is an effective strategy for using time wisely and achieving greater results. Blocking out time for specific activities allows you to focus on one task at a time, limit distractions and procrastination.


It's really simple to use:


1. Define your tasks at hand, make a task list.

2. Define a block of time during which you will eliminate all distractions and give all your focus to your tasks. Start the timer and work.

3. Take frequent breaks. Regular breaks are conducive to greater productivity and concentration. During these breaks take a breath of fresh air, do some push-ups, stretch or anything else that helps you to restore your power. Your body will thank you.

4. Repeat this work/break cycle and take a longer breaks when you feel you need to.

I used to love this app but for the past several months, when the pomodoro is done, it doesn't ring and instead of starting a short break, it keeps counting time in the negatives (even with all the settings for auto start breaks and rings and notifications on, and even with the phone unlocked). There are no updates to the app and I even emailed them to get it fixed but got no response. I liked that this app is simple, straightforward and doesn't have any ads but it just doesn't work anymore.

Overall, it's an amazing app! It has the best ease of use and visuals compared to any other pomodoro app. Unfortunately, if my phone is locked, the alarms at the end of a pomodoros or breaks won't play. I've double-checked all my notifications and battery restriction settings, but it seems to be an issue with the app. This is really important to my workload since I'm trying to use my phone as little as possible. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon!

If you don't keep the screen on while using the app cycles do not end or end late. The notification will say 0:00 remaining, but will not notify that the period has ended. If I click on the notification when the app is in the bugged state, the app shows up with the timer on the next phase. Sometimes the timer freezes earlier than 0:00. I have keep awake set in the app and battery optimization disabled. The notification sound is very quiet, also.
