Ratings and reviews

Yet another city builder style game. Literally no different from any other game of that style, of which there are hundreds of other options. Nothing that makes this unique and fun, feels absolutely nothing like AoE. Ads portrayed it as if they had ported AoE 2 or created something similar, highly misleading since this is just join an alliance, send X of this unit, Y of this, attack a resource point or other player, wait. But you can pay money to speed it up or speed building upgrades.

The monetization practices are just so egregious at this point. Now there are Mythical themes that give 5% attack to all unit types. 3% higher than the next tier of citadel theme for more than double the price all through Gatcha spins and loot box openings. It's honestly so sad that the franchise attached to this game is so good because this is a blight on their reputation. Also, good luck asking for a refund for anything even if the issue was on their end. It's just terrible. Shame on you

this is an extremely robust installment of the franchise with the only real downside being that it's nothing like the original. it plays like any modern pay-to-play-try-to-be-everything mobile game. Lots of features that you'll understand if you played the original, or the Xbox port. The battlefield survivor minigame, however, is easily 10 out of 5 stars. I would buy a stand-alone battlefield survivor game out of pocket...Meanwhile, I only ever log in to see if they've re-added the minigame.
