Ratings and reviews

It's great to have so many versions of the Bible readily available. There's not always a direct English translation of the words or expressions from the original languages. The different phrasings can be eye opening. Expanding the reader's understanding of what is being communicated by the message. Highlighting any word will trigger a pop-up that will offer a link to a dictionary or the Strong's Concordance (purchased). The latter shows the original language word and meaning.

It's my favorite mobile Bible for many years with loads of resources. You can use it on or offline. It has the best cross references and definitions. Touch underlined words to popup related scriptures and touch the asterisk for a word's definition. Audio will read the Bible to you. KJV version is free. You can download other versions and commentaries. With these, you can parallel reference or highlight a scripture and pull multiple interpretations. You can highlight, copy, share scriptures, etc.

I've been using Tecarta Bible for nearly 15 years now, my first installation was on an iPod Touch. It's consistently been one of the best Bible apps available today. No ads, and the ability to compare versions is very helpful. There's a store that runs sales very often for commentaries, devotionals and versions from top publishers and authors - but Tecarta never pushes you to buy, just informs you that the option is there. I don't know that there's a better Bible app available than this one.
