About this app

Get there with the Waymo Driver — The World’s Most Experienced Driver™

The Waymo One app is making it safer, more accessible, and more sustainable to get around — without the need for anyone in the driver’s seat.

Today, anyone can take an autonomous ride with Waymo One in San Francisco or the Metro Phoenix area. In Los Angeles and Austin, download the app and we’ll let you know when it’s your time to ride.

Built with you in mind:
• Get around safely: The Waymo Driver has driven tens of millions of miles on the road and billions of miles in simulated scenarios. The data to date indicates the Waymo Driver is already reducing traffic injuries and fatalities in the places we currently operate.
• Stay empowered with our interactive in-car screens: The Waymo Driver knows your local roads and shows you what it’s seeing along the way—every car, pedestrian, cyclist, and more. You’ll see its planned route and stay informed every step of the way. Call Rider Support at any time if you need to talk to a helpful human or pull over if you need to end your ride early.
• Enjoy your journey: A Waymo car has all the freedom of having your own vehicle without the stresses of driving or maintaining it. Pick the perfect temperature, play your favorite music, catch up with a friend, or simply take a nap. You’ll look forward to every ride.

How the Waymo Driver works:
• The World’s Most Experienced Driver™: Our vehicles are operated by the Waymo Driver, a technology that’s designed to prioritize safety and take the stress out of people’s everyday drives.
• Multilayered suite of sensors: Our cameras, lidar, and radar work together so the Waymo Driver can see up to three football fields away in all directions, day and night. Safety is our top priority, so the Waymo Driver is trained and tested to carefully navigate in all driving situations and get you to your destination, stress free.

I prefer to ride with WAYMO, when the pricing is reasonable. Which only happens occasionally now. When I first started using the WAYMO App, two years ago when I first moved to Tempe AZ, Uber hadn't bought it yet and the ride costs were pretty low. Also, there were a lot of price specials on rides as they expanded the rideshare territories. I still prefer a driverless experience however. Especially when I have to be at work before dawn. Not too many drivers out and about and then.

welcome to the new world! driverless taxis. decided to try the experience and it was really very good. the cars are very nice. it seems like the trips can be a little bit longer cuz I don't think they can always use the shortest routes but it was very comfortable and I was not in a hurry. it added maybe 6-7 minutes to the drive but it was worth it

DANGEROUS! I tried this for the first time. The trunk got jammed. We had to wait for 25 min in the car as hostages. Then they disabled the vehicle, and it was unable to be used anymore. They told us to exit without luggage since it was an airport ride. It was driving very fast, did not give a signal, and almost caused a crash! Avoid. It's not safe or rider friendly.

Hi Aditi. Safety is our number one priority at Waymo, and this is not the experience we strive for, so we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. We’re actively improving our service all the time, so we hope you’ll try another ride with us. If you have any additional feedback, contact us here: www.waymo.com/contact.
