It seems Bluetooth requires permission for allowing contact sharing in order for smart on/off to work. Thanks to IQAir responding to my review I that the smart on/off did not work, I took another look at the apps configuration and firmware. Firmware&app were current, then I re-synced the Atem's Bluetooth, this time I allowed access to contacts and call history. Maybe more clarity is needed in the description to state this option is required for smart on/off to work.

Hello sorry to hear that your smart on/off is not working as expected. With the new firmware and Bluetooth update you should not be having any smart on/off issues with your Atem. I wish my air purifier didn't need an app! The app doesn't recognize my account unless the purifier is turned on. Every time I try to use app it's in Chinese. Once it opens, it won't scroll. Emailed customer service yesterday and still no response.

When trying to connect to atem it just had a green spin of death that never sees the atem. I cannot get it to connect for too different devices now. They warrantied it out because the filter didn't last more than three weeks. Now I got a new one and it smells out of the box like paint. App pairing is impossible at this point. Update I am waiting for a refund since March 26th when you sent me an email saying you received my products. I have called 5 times and emailed 3 & no correspondence!
