Backgammon is a game of skill and strategy; one of the world's classic parlour board games, played for recreation and gambling. Like Mahjong, Backgammon is played in social groups in coffee houses and bars. Historically, variants of this game are believed to have been played in Mesopotamia and Egypt thousands of years ago, then by the Romans and later in India. It also spread to East Asia, but was largely replaced by Xiangqi (Chinese chess). It is now very popular in the West.

Ratings and reviews

Love this game, played close to 600 matches on various difficulties. Ignore the folks saying it's rigged. Yes, the dice will hate you sometimes. That's life. I do have two recommendations for the dev: 1. If I'm bearing off and opponent has checkers in my home, opponent should prioritize moving them out and avoiding a backgammon. 2. Ability to import stats from free version to paid version. Otherwise, excellent game!

I've enjoyed the game for years, even though AI is kinda easy even at level 7. Here is my issue, the numbers generated can not be random. Almost every other game, I have these odd streaks where the same numbers are rolled over and over. Last week, I got 5&2 over and over, and now, in a new game, the first three rolls are 6&3??? It's almost impossible for the same numbers to keep showing up in a row over and over.

I find the game challenging but very beatable even at level seven. If you look at lifetime stats, you will see that the percentage doubles thrown by a player versus the computer comes out very close. Just make sure you're playing an adequate number of games before you think that it's rigged with doubles in favor of the computer. In my case it definitely is not. Around 14% doubles for myself and the computer
