Five pull-ups, ten push-ups, fifteen air squats. As many rounds as you can in twenty minutes.
That workout is called 'Cindy', and it runs in CrossFit boxes everywhere.

If you have ever lost count mid-workout, this is for you.

Cindy Timer is an AMRAP timer and round counter. Set a time cap, watch it count down, and the number of rounds you finish inside it is your score.

■ Three ways to count, for when your hands are busy
· Button — it fills the bottom of the screen, so even the back of your hand works
· Voice — say your chosen word and the round is logged
· Foot — put the phone on the floor and tap it with your foot

Hanging off the bar or face down on the floor, rounds still go up without looking at the screen. Every count flashes the screen once and gives a short buzz.

■ A burst of signals will not wreck your log
A phone knocked over, or a room full of noise, sends signals in clusters. Anything that arrives inside your chosen guard window is discarded — button, voice and foot alike. The window is adjustable.

■ See exactly where you fell apart
Every round keeps its split, and the history screen lays them out as bars. Whether you blew up around round 12 or held pace to the end is visible at a glance.

■ Stopwatch mode for workouts without a cap
Set anything from 1 to 90 minutes, or switch to the stopwatch when there is no time cap.

■ Pick a colour
Two skins: the default VOLT and the red ARACHNE. Records are untouched.

■ No internet
No account, no sign-in, no ads. The app does not even request the internet permission. Your records stay on this device.

The name comes from the CrossFit benchmark WOD 'Cindy' — a 20 minute AMRAP of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups and 15 air squats. That is why the default cap is 20 minutes.
