LocaToWeb is the best and most reliable GPS tracker for your phone. Use the app to track your own adventures or view other trackers out in the wild hiking, running, bicycling, boating, road-tripping etc. It’s a great tool for yourselves to record your routes, take photos, send messages and let others interact with your adventures.

Knowing that your loved ones can follow your position and know where you are is a great safety aspect.

The app gives you duration, distance, speed and altitude as well as your exact position and track lines on a map while tracking. Your position is only tracked when a track has been set up and started and lasts until you stop it.

Tracks are only identified using a track title and an alias (a name that you choose for every track), which means you can be as anonymous as you like. Registration for an account is recommended but not required, you can install and track without any signup. Your email address (if registered) is never visible to anyone.

Tracks are by default public which means they will be listed on locatoweb.com and in the app for others to see. But you can at any time toggle a track to be private. This means that only the ones knowing the map-link or user accounts specified will see your private tracks listed in the app. Both private and public tracks can be shared on social media, sent via messenger, email, SMS etc.

The app comes with several map types, including satellite and topographic which makes it great for navigation. Waypoints can be added and displayed on the map (GPX) if you want to pre-load a route. It’s also possible to load other tracks into your own map while tracking.

Photos taken in the app will show on the map and can be viewed by others. Messages can be sent and received when the track is running.
When using the app to view other tracks you can pin your own position and see where you are relative to the track you are viewing.

The app uses the GPS to get position data and use the data connection (4G/5G/Wi-Fi) to send and receive data.

Your 10 most recent tracks, or up to 5000km are stored in your account at locatoweb.com and in the app. It is possible to increase the storage capacity by purchasing a storage plan.

LocaToWeb can be used professionally or for business purposes, but then a PRO account or Business Account is required!

Ratings and reviews

This app has pretty decent functionality and is intuitive to operate. We use it strictly for private safety applications and it has a couple of annoying aspects. The default mode is a public track. It's obvious how to manually make it private, but when you do that you can't share the track privately. Also, I routinely travel in a remote area but am stationary at different times. The app stops tracking after some period of no movement but does not automatically restart. Defeats the purpose.

LocaToWeb is perfect for my wife and me. We use it to let each other know where we are when we don't ride together. Perfect for solo riding for letting others know where you are in case of an accident. It's powerful but maintains a simple, clean interface, on the app and on the web. The support has been excellent; they've been responsive to user questions and have made updates to accommodate the changes that Android has pushed out, which have, at times, mucked with the functionality of LocaToWeb. Highly recommended!

oh man.. , disclaimer is I have not actually tried the darn thing but it shows me my elevation and it is connected and shows GPS working and this is as far as I have been in HOURS of loading nearly every GPS tracker on the play store. .Maddening. All had some funky stuff that either made it impossible, too complicated, or would not connect between PC/Phone and the phone we are tracking. Hours and hours I spent. I was getting so discouraged. .Loaded this one up, says it is connected to GPS, shows me some data and that I am 'standing still' (as I am) and share right to a text or other message service and ANYONE you send it to on ANY device or PC or Mac can click and it takes you to the browser and .. it works. .I am besides myself. If you are reading this, save yourself a LOT of stress.. This program simply works, is easy and intuitive. No over complication and the ANY browser to monitor from is just brilliant.. I will come back and review more about how it works, but for tonight, this is as far as I have got in hours and hours of trying the others.. Took me about 5 minutes to set this up, understand it. and be able to know I can use it. What a relief.. I think me and this program are going to get along real well.
