This app is the smartphone version of the online shogi site "81Dojo" (http://81dojo.com) under the patronage of the Japan Shogi Association.
81Dojo is characterized by its unique and advanced functionalities such as the interactive post-game analysis support, very real playing environment including professional byoyomi voice, and the internationalization. Most of those functionalities are copied to this app. 81Dojo stays with you all the time, while you take it with your smartphone to anywhere you go to. Why not take a little break and enjoy some short games at 81Dojo?

Ratings and reviews

I'm not particularly experienced in Shogi, and nor do I have the prowess of even remembering illegal moves (sorry peeps I've played) but I can say that there is definitely some work put forth by the devs of this specific app. There are a couple of minor bugs, in particular one where dialogue boxes and related material will not close at all. Only way to get them out of the way is to select an option such as "Challenge", but pressing the X will not close it.

It would be great, if it worked. Keeps crashing all the time. It has a useful features but whenever there's a little more people connected starts working really slow and crashes almost every time. It also has a lot of bugs (ex. It disconnects from account when leaving a match as viewer). Aside from that it's one of the two apps for playing shogi online, and one of the few to be on English.

Sometimes cannot grab & drop a piece which leads to timeup which totally ruins a shogi experience both players are engaging. Never happens on other rivalry apps such as shogi wars & shogi quest. Plus if you open up a left or right window during a match you cannot return to the exact board where the game is being played. This also inevitably ends up timeup or resign if you have enough time. Ironically, after that the emotionless system asks my opponent to evaluate my manner. lfmao. Good one /s.
