About this app

Read and listen to the Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous, wherever you are. The first 164 pages are here in full, free to read, with everything you need to make the book your own: highlights, notes, bookmarks, search, and audio that follows the words.

READ
• The first 164 pages, with the Preface, the Forewords and The Doctor's Opinion, set like the book and keeping its page numbers.
• Your place is kept. Open the app and carry on from where you stopped.
• Chapters you have finished are ticked, and the one you are in shows how far you have got.
• Light and dark, and the text size that suits you.

MAKE IT YOURS
• Tap any sentence to highlight it, write a note on it, bookmark it, pin it or share it.
• Notes and bookmarks are kept together, each beside the sentence it belongs to.
• Search the whole book and the literature, and open the book at the sentence you find.

LISTEN
• Every chapter read aloud: more than five hours of audio.
• The words follow the reading. Tap a sentence to hear it from there.
• Start from the beginning, from the page you are reading, or from where you stopped listening.
• Change the speed, set a sleep timer, and keep listening with the screen off.

MORE THAN THE BOOK
• 13 prayers, including the Serenity Prayer and the Third, Seventh and Eleventh Step prayers.
• 9 meeting readings, including the Preamble, How It Works, the Promises and the Twelve Traditions.
• 69 personal stories from the first and second editions.
• A sentence from the book every hour, at the hours you choose. Pin the ones you want to keep.
• A sobriety date that counts your days.
• A link to today's Daily Reflection.

YOURS, AND PRIVATE
• No account is needed to read, listen or take notes.
• Your notes, highlights and bookmarks stay on your device unless you sign in to back them up. Your sobriety date never leaves it.
• Made and looked after by a long-term sober member of A.A.

Ratings and reviews

Just installed this app and couldn't even get signed into it. I tried to sign in through the Google option and it just kept messaging "something went wrong" then it kept saying that my wi-fi was blocking it from being accessible. Tried to sign up manually just typing my email in then it sent a code to enter then the option to enter the code would just disappear. Uninstalled until all of this nonsense gets fixed.

I just want to turn and you can't go directly to a certain page number it only scrolls up or down takes you forever if you need to get deep in the book deleting

I love this app!! The only thing is I can't delete or 'unbookmark' things when I save my place. Maybe I haven't figured that bit out yet 🤔 and sometimes different coloured than yellow bookmarks don't show up in my listed bookmarks. Other than that this is a lovely app. Instead of carrying a little big book in my bag then it being too small to see lol so Thankyou for this and your 12 step tool kit app 🙏
