About this app

Casebound Recorder is the free Android recording companion for Casebound on Mac. A compatible Mac running Casebound is required to receive recordings, transcribe sessions and draft notes. The Mac app is a separate App Store purchase.

RECORD WITH CONSENT
Record session audio with your device microphone after obtaining the required participant consent. Recording works offline. Android shows an active microphone indicator and a recording notification with a Stop control. You can stop and save from the app or notification.

KEEP AUDIO ON YOUR DEVICE
Saved recordings are held in private app storage. Listen to a recording, send it to your Mac or delete it when no longer needed. Use a device screen lock. Recordings are excluded from cloud backups and device migration; transfer them before resetting or replacing your device.

SEND OVER YOUR LOCAL NETWORK
Enable receiving in Casebound on your Mac, unlock your clinician profile, and connect both devices to the same trusted network. Choose the Mac and compare the six-digit pairing code on both screens. Confirm only when the codes match. Recordings are encrypted in transit and do not pass through a publisher server. Keep both apps open until the transfer finishes.

CONFIRM BEFORE REMOVING
The recorder removes its local copy only after the Mac confirms receipt of that recording ID. If transfer fails, the recording remains available to retry. On the Mac, assign the delivered recording from the encrypted companion inbox to a client before processing it.

REQUIREMENTS
Android 13 or later with a microphone. Receiving and processing require Casebound on an Apple silicon Mac with macOS 15+, at least 16 GB RAM and 12 GB free storage. Initial model setup on the Mac requires internet access. This Android app does not include a transcription or note-generation engine.

PROFESSIONAL USE
Casebound Recorder captures and transfers audio for documentation. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any medical condition, provide medical advice or monitor emergencies. Consult a qualified health professional for medical advice. Follow your organization's consent and recordkeeping policies. Any AI-generated draft produced by the Mac app requires clinician review.

There is no Casebound cloud account, advertising SDK, subscription or in-app purchase in this companion.
