RegHex turns regular expressions into crosswords. Fill the grid so every row, column, or hexagonal axis matches its clues. Learn the basics in a guided tutorial, then work up to expert puzzles that need several clues to fit together.

Includes 5 tutorial puzzles, 30 easy, 30 medium, 30 hard, 25 expert, and an 80-puzzle daily rotation. Every built-in puzzle has one unique solution. Return to recent daily challenges in a playable 30-day archive.

ROTATE YOUR THINKING
Choose rectangular grids or hexagonal boards with clues along three axes. Rotate hex boards in 120-degree steps. Live checking highlights satisfied and violated clues, with an option to hide red feedback for a sterner challenge.

MAKE YOUR OWN CROSSWORDS
Build rectangular or hexagonal puzzles. The editor checks that your creation has exactly one solution before saving. Share a compact text code through your chosen apps, or paste a code to import a puzzle. No public feed or messaging account is required.

LEARN AND TRACK YOUR PROGRESS
Search the regex reference for character classes, repetition, groups, alternation, and backreferences. Track best times, statistics, daily streaks, and 12 local achievements. Enjoy dark appearance, tablet layouts, and optional haptic feedback.

OFFLINE FIRST
All built-in content works offline, with no advertising, developer-run analytics, subscription, or RegHex account. Optional Google Drive sync backs up puzzle progress to your hidden app-data folder and merges it across your Android devices. It requires Google Play services and your consent. Custom puzzle definitions remain on the device; use share codes to transfer them. There is no Apple-to-Android cloud sync.

What’s new

Turn rectangular boards so long column clues read across. Edge clues now sit in numbered lanes, with the selected row and column highlighted; tap a lane to jump to that line. Fifty new daily puzzles join the rotation, Symbol Labyrinth and other symbol clues use clearer notation, and the Mac sidebar separates My Puzzles. Existing progress and earlier daily dates are preserved. Every puzzle and feature remains free.
