About this app

Every hour. Three minutes. That's it.

Exercise Breaks is a calm, once-an-hour nudge to stand up and move for a few minutes during your workday. There are no workouts to follow and no goals to hit — just a gentle reminder, and you choose what movement feels right.

WHY HOURLY BREAKS

Even regular exercisers sit most of the day. Movement breaks during the workday improve blood pressure, mood, energy, and post-meal glucose in ways exercise alone doesn't fully cover — these are separate physiological systems. A morning workout is great. So is a three-minute break every hour.

HOW IT WORKS

• Set the hours you work.
• Once an hour, Exercise Breaks reminds you to take a short movement break.
• Stand, stretch, walk around the room — whatever suits your body and your space. You pick; the app doesn't prescribe specific exercises.
• Three minutes is the default. The reminder is quiet and easy to dismiss on a busy day.

WHAT IT'S NOT

• No streaks, no badges, no guilt. Miss a break and nothing happens — no scolding, no broken chain to feel bad about.
• Not a fitness tracker. It doesn't measure your steps, your heart rate, or your body. It doesn't track you at all.
• It's a gentle reminder, not one more thing to feel behind on.

FREE, NO ADS

The core of Exercise Breaks — the hourly reminder to move — is free, and always will be. No ads. No feature paywall. If you find the app useful and want to support its development, there's an optional tip jar; tips are voluntary and don't unlock any features.

Your privacy: the app collects no personal data and doesn't track you. Everything you do in the app stays on your device. Optional tips and the occasional review prompt go through Google Play, which handles them under Google's terms. To keep the hourly timer reliable, the app shows a small ongoing notification while it's running — that's the reminder doing its job, not tracking.

The science behind Exercise Breaks comes from peer-reviewed research, including a twelve-week trial of the exact three-minutes-every-hour protocol. You can read the sources in the app and on our website. Exercise Breaks is a general wellness tool, not medical advice — if you have a health condition or any reason to be cautious about light activity, check with your doctor first.

Reliability across Android's many manufacturers is something I take seriously and keep working on. If reminders ever stop arriving on your device, the in-app Send Feedback button sends diagnostic details that help me track down device-specific issues. I'm one developer, but I read every message.

Every hour. Three minutes. That's it.
Movement breaks help in ways exercise alone can't. 3 min, every hour.
