Ask in plain English — or Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, German, French, or Italian. Describe the symptom ("check engine light is on", "grinding noise when I brake") and get the most-likely cause, an estimated repair cost, and a DIY difficulty rating. And when a job needs a lift or special tools, it says so.

OBD2 SCANNING
Pair a Bluetooth LE or WiFi ELM327 adapter and read stored, pending, and permanent trouble codes — free, with plain-English descriptions from a 9,415-code offline catalog. Live sensor data, emissions readiness, and VIN reading included from DIY up. Read-only: it never clears codes or flashes your ECU.

GUIDED DIAGNOSTICS
Resumable sessions that walk you through the tests in the order that rules out the cheap causes first, so you don't replace a converter when the problem was an exhaust leak.

It worked great until the recent update. All my points were gone and had to log in the app. Eventhough I never logged out. Don't remember my login info. After losing everything, including the diagnostic conversation, I uninstalled the app. Update: I was able to find everything I thought I lost and was finally able to log into my account. 3 stars for now until I navigate the new update. Everything changed. This was no small update.

Wow, latest update really neutered this app. They cut way back on features in free version, in particular only being allowed 1 vehicle and only 3 questions a day. Totally pathetic compared to what it used to be. For example, I was able to accumulate the number of questions I could ask (had like 25, obtained by watching ads) and for any vehicle. Gave 2 stars because it does give you good information but severe lack of usability now.

I've been dealing with a difficult to diagnose CEL, mechanics wouldn't listen to me, dealer service centers wouldn't listen to me. Nobody would help, I spent quite a bit of money trying to solve it. The CEL was intermittent and didn't stick around long. I lost hope until this AI and I bounced ideas back and forth. Helped me diagnose and confirm with utmost accuracy what was causing it. I believe this AI shows promise to anyone who wants to keep their car in good shape. Thank you Devs.

Fixes from your feedback: haptic feedback can now be turned off (Settings > Preferences), photo-only questions to the AI Mechanic no longer fail, clearer error messages, the Edit Details control is on every garage vehicle, MECH Vision handles the photo limit gracefully, and subscription management opens the right store page.
