About this app

Voice grocery list: say your shopping list instead of typing it.

Your shopping list is nobody's business. Not even ours. Nimmit keeps it on your device, with no account and no tracking.

Say "milk, eggs and bread" and it becomes three separate items. Nimmit is a free shopping list for families, couples and flatshares, working offline and shareable end to end encrypted. No onboarding, no login, the app opens straight to your list.

Free, no ads, no subscription.

VOICE INPUT FOR SEVERAL ITEMS AT ONCE
One sentence, several items. Nimmit splits them apart for you.
Amounts and units come along for the ride: "two litres of milk", "500 grams of flour".
A dictionary of more than 1800 groceries fixes what the recogniser mishears.
Recognition runs on the device by default. If no offline model is available, Nimmit stops rather than quietly sending audio to the cloud. The online fallback is yours to switch on, and it ships turned off.

SORTED LIKE YOUR SUPERMARKET
Items drop into categories automatically, from fruit to household.
Create your own categories, rename them, drag them into the order your shop uses.
Ticked items sink to the bottom and can clear themselves the next time you open the list.
Nimmit remembers your spellings and offers them back next time.

SCAN A BARCODE
Scan a product and its name lands on the list.
No match, or camera access denied? Typing the code works too.

OFFLINE AND WITHOUT AN ACCOUNT
Your shopping list lives on your device and needs no connection for everyday use.
No account, no sign-up, no email address.
No tracking, no ads, no analytics SDKs. There is simply nothing to collect.

A SHARED SHOPPING LIST FOR A FAMILY, A COUPLE OR A FLATSHARE
Share your grocery list by link or QR code, with changes appearing in real time.
No friend system, and the other side needs no account.
Item names and list titles are end-to-end encrypted.
The secret key sits behind the # in the link and never leaves your devices. We could not read your list even if we wanted to.

HOME SCREEN WIDGET
Your next open items at a glance, without opening the app.
You choose which list it shows. The widget is part of Nimmit Pro.

FREE, AND NIMMIT PRO
Free and unlimited: voice input, as many items as you like, the dictionary, sorting, the barcode scanner, and two lists of your own. Anyone invited to a shared list takes part fully and never pays.
Nimmit Pro unlocks once: as many of your own lists as you like, backing up and sharing your own lists, and the home screen widget. One purchase, no subscription, nothing renews. It pays for the encrypted backup, which is how Nimmit gets by without ads and without selling data.

WHAT NIMMIT DELIBERATELY IS NOT
No recipe planner. No price comparison. No retailer integration. No subscription. Nimmit is the digital shopping list: as simple as a notepad, as fast as speaking and as private as paper.

THE HONEST LIMITS
A backup covers your identity and your shared lists, not the purely local ones.
Whoever holds the invite link can read and write. Only give it to people you trust.
Your nickname in a shared list is not encrypted. Pick one that does not give you away.

Nimmit is built by one person. If something is missing or broken, send it straight from the app (Settings, Feedback) or write to info@nimmit.app. The message lands with the developer directly.
Voice grocery list. Free, no account, works offline, share encrypted.

Improvements

The app only contacts the server when you share, join, restore or send feedback.

Bug Fixes

Unknown barcodes reported "No connection" instead of "Product not in the database".
The error message in the scanner was broken up into single syllables.
Scanned items took the package size as their quantity. They are now added without one.
